New account creation
When clicking on new account, aside from being offered the opportunity to create a bank, credit card, investment, asset, liability and loan account is there a way I can implement and/or create an account not in this list, moreover, a new template, e.g. Rewards?

I'm a fellow user.
The account type list is fixed, you cannot create different types of create another heading.
In general terms the Asset and Liability accounts are catch all types intended to capture any other accounts you may need.

Thanks for your reply...if I used one of the catch-all accounts to house just some mundane numbers wouldn't that yield a false record or balance somewhere throughout my summary or reports?

Moneydance is built on Double Entry Accounting/bookkeeping principles so yes all entries will impact account or category balances which can impact reports.
I do not know of a way to have some sort of account in the software that has no impact.

I should add, you can implement an account and a set of custom categories that do not have an overall impact. You would need to look at things like marking the account as inactive, excluding the custom categories created from any reports.
If you are looking for a specific function within the software to have free form lists or records that are not included within normal accounts and reports that sounds like something for the suggestions forum.

If they are to have no impact on the rest of your finances or overview in reports, could you not just have a separate data file for 'Rewards'?
