is what Moneydance needs to do a direct connection with a bank. A
user recently suggested that LA Banque Postale might have an OFX
server and our Financial Institution Connection Specialist is
currently looking into that to see whether that is the case. So
check back on the list in a week or two and hopefully at least that
one will be there. As for other French banks, it is very uncommon
outside of the US to have banks that have OFX servers (and not so
common in the US either.) If bank customers start lobbying their
banks to provide OFX servers then we will gladly connect to
them.
in the list today, I suppose it didn't work.
Oh well, I can keep typing...

Alextag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/9031192010-03-04T03:17:21Z2010-03-04T03:17:21ZFrench banks known to support OFX download

Hi Alex,

From what I can tell, La Banque Postale allows for OFX file
downloads, but not OFX direct connections. If you bank with them,
you would at least be able to download OFX or QIF files that you
could then import into Moneydance, instead of having to type in all
of your transactions by hand. However, you won't be able to
download the transactions directly into Moneydance.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any further
questions.

To begin with, La Poste allows you to download the last 16
transactions on the account. When you click on TELECHARGER LE
DETAIL DE VOS COMPTES, a window pops up and prompts you to choose
the format: XLS, CSV, or MNY/QIF. Then you can download the file,
and access the data through the Import function in Money Dance.

But once you have done this the first time, the next time you go
to the pop up window the dates can be changed -- this seems to be a
bug, but good for us! If you click MODIFIER, the choice is not for
16 transactions, but for either for the last 30 days or else for a
time period which you can specify.

Whatever time period you specify is saved, so if you change for
a compte courrant to another account, such as a compte d'epargne,
the same download default is suggested.

Hope this helps! I am going to experiment more, but you should
definitely be able to go forward with electronic downloading if you
are a La Poste customer and have the minimal online access as we
do.

Theodora
