How to import Bank Categories on import

I'm trying to import all my credit card transactions and the categories that are found in a .csv from the bank show all the correct type of categories. However, when I try to import the .qfx file, it only defaults to an incorrect category. Anyone know how to make this work correclty?

I'm a fellow user.
QFX/OFX files do not contain any category information, there is no provision in the specification for it.
How Moneydance handles it is two fold, In the first instance there is a default category that transactions can have assigned. In the longer run as you confirm downloaded data and assign categories Moneydance will "learn" the categories that you assign to specific payees and suggest them for future transactions.
