The blue 'dot' is an indicator that a transaction has been imported into Moneydance - either manually imported or via direct-connect.

A blue 'circle' is an indicator that an imported transaction has been confirmed.

Manually entered transactions will not receive a blue dot unless they are set in Preferences to automatically merge with imported transactions and a match is found.

If you have manually entered transactions in your register and it is known that these transactions are indeed available from your financial institution to be imported but they are not, then you may need to reset the sync to your financial institution. (This only pertains to those financial institutions that you have set up for direct-connect imports.)

Doing so instructs Moneydance to download any and all available transactions from your financial institutions server. This may, as you might expect, create duplications in your register so be prepared to resolve that matter.

To reset the sync, open Moneydance to the account in question.
From the Moneydance menu bar, go to Online > Set Up Online Banking.
In the resulting form, click the 'Reset Sync' button.
