In python, a doddle. Can you attach the example cvs file?

Do you mean txns too, or just the pure category? Would the structure be like for like?

I’m wondering if the old MD import function that allowed you to import a qif file and just import the account/category structure with no data would work... I have enabled this in toolbox. I think it’s on the tools menu.

    I'm a fellow user.

The old importer was creating the Category and Account list from the transactions, a very useful feature. I do not know if it was able to use a QIF category list as only a few vendor products could create such a list. It would be interesting to see if it could.

A QIF category list is quite simple.

A not too uncommon request is the creation of a new empty data set but with the structure in place exporting Account, Category, Security QIF lists and importing them into a new data set could be a way of facilitating this.

I've just knocked up a CSV imported for Categories... If you want to test/play - it's attached.. Backup first, ideally try on a test copy...
