I have the 2021 MD upgrade and backed up everything from my desktop to an external HD for an extended trip. Cannot find my MD files on the Easystore HD. Spent hours looking. Ideas?

    I'm a fellow user.

Moneydance backup files should have an extension of .moneydancearchive

Moneydance data folders should have an extension of .moneydance

I would be searching for these.

Toolbox extension has a search for dataset and backup files button.

Did you just make a complete copy of your entire hard drive? If so, I'd think your data files would be located in the same default file location as on your main computer:

The above suggestions of what to search for is also a good idea. If none of those help, can you perhaps clarify what you did to back up your desktop computer? It sounds like you copied everything, but if you only copied your main documents folder for example, that would be unlikely to include your Moneydance data files, unless you previously manually moved them there.

Ethan, thanks for the reply. I was able to change the file type of the
file I needed from moneydancearchive to moneydance and it loaded for me.
