<p>It seems to work for me. That report shows each transaction filtered by the category. Is it the subtotal that causes you a problem? You might consider using Tags to keep track of expense income for a specific person, then run the report filtered by the Tag</p></div>mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494525652021-10-26T07:36:29Z2021-10-26T07:36:29ZReport by category<div><p>But tags don't work if they are in a split!</p></div>tonyttag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494525652021-10-26T14:30:08Z2021-10-26T14:30:08ZReport by category<div><p>just a user,</p>
<p>Can you show the report output you get and indicate what you would like to see ?</p></div>mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494525652021-10-26T18:56:37Z2021-10-26T18:56:41ZReport by category<div><p>Apologies. It was the Cash Flow, Detailed report I was using, not Income and Expenses.<br>
I'd rather not send actual transactions, but what I found was that if, say, I spent £40 in shop A, which I recorded as a 50/50 split between two categories, then used the Cash Flow, Detailed report to get info about just one of those categories, the amount shown was the £40, not the £20 of it that I had split to the category concerned.</p></div>Carolinetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494525652021-10-26T20:53:15Z2021-10-26T20:53:15ZReport by category<div><p>just a user,</p>
<p>I think you will get the info you need using the "Detailed Income and Expense Report"<br>
See attached example</p></div>mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/494525652021-10-27T07:44:23Z2021-10-27T07:44:25ZReport by category<div><p>mhoggie you are a star!.
