Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Did you import your data from an other program?

Although you cannot change the account type you can 'move' the transactions to the correct account.
In order to achieve this open Moneydance, and choose Account --> New Account. Create the Investment account you want to move the transactions to.

Then navigate to the Bank account. Make sure the 'All' filter is enabled at the top of the account register. Highlight any transaction within the account, then press the keys 'Ctrl' and 'A'. This will highlight all transactions within the account.

Then 'right click' (or press Ctrl and click). This will reveal the context menu. Choose Batch Change --> Account. Then select the new Investment account.

This will move all transactions from the Bank account to the Investment account. The bank account can then be deleted if it's no longer required.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
