I'm a fellow user.
How is it being handed in the investment?
If the investment is held in shares or units in fund I would envisage that a sale could be being used to fund the payment, in some cases it may be taken from earnings, so it would be depended on how this is set up in Moneydance.
In some way the funds are being taken out of the investment, how to do this depends on your setup.
