I'm happily using MoneyDance 2011r2 on OSX 10.9.5. I'd like to attach bank statements or paper invoices to reconcillations or transactions and would like to know the oldest version that offers this. Possibly as an free upgrade? At this time I have no interest in other features, mobile apps etc.

Thanks,

The first version of Moneydance to support attachments was Moneydance 2014

It's a long time ago but I think the 2011 -> 2014 upgrade may have been free but I cannot be 100% certain. I do know that 2014 had a completely different file/folder structure to MD 2011, so if you upgrade and want to go back you should keep a copy of your 2011 file in a safe place.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495944202022-01-12T22:37:14Z2022-01-12T22:37:16ZOldest version which allows for adding statement attachments

Thanks for responding! Do you know what OSX MD2014 supported? Given it was a new file structure, was it pretty stable?

Ktag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495944202022-01-12T23:33:53Z2022-01-12T23:33:53ZOldest version which allows for adding statement attachments

I would expect you would see problems with MD2014 from Sierra onwards, Apple have been fairly consistent at breaking Moneydance with a result that the software has required updates for support on OSX/macOS.

This file structure was introduced in MD2012, I do not recall any major gotchas and I still have MD2012 running today without problem - although on Windows.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495944202022-01-15T21:49:05Z2022-01-15T21:49:05ZOldest version which allows for adding statement attachments

On our 2014 download page, it looks like MacOS 10.6 through 10.10 was supported: https://infinitekind.com/download_2014

I'm pretty sure going from 2011 to 2012 was free (assuming you purchased 2011, and not 2010), but I don't think 2011 to 2014 was. If you'd like, you could purchase a discounted upgrade to the latest version, let us know on a separate thread, and we can issue you a key that will work for the 2014 version. We can also leave the other key active, in case you want to upgrade to 2022 in another decade.
