Hi Rosie

Quote Loader return the exchange in terms of Base Currency = X units in the denomination displayed to 4 decimal places. So, with a base currency of British Pounds one Pound = X US Dollars. In your example One Pound = 1.3708 US Dollars. However, Moneydance Store this Exchange Rate in terms of One US Dollar = X Pounds the reciprocal of the rate returned by Quote Loader. In your example 1/1.3708=0.72950102130143 to 13 decimal places. This is the figure stored under TOOLS – CURRENCY – US DOLLARS. It does this to maintain an accurate reciprocal. I think in previous version of Moneydance fewer decimal places were stored which resulted in inaccuracies, hence the change.
I don’t think there is anyway to display the reciprocal to less decimal on the Summary page.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/495990032022-01-14T17:03:22Z2022-01-14T17:03:24ZDecimal places in Currencies shown on summary page

Thanks for your input, Derek. It just looks weird that there are 13 decimal places one way round. It would be good to have an option to limit the display of the currency rates to a set number of decimal places, even though they are stored to a higher number of places. When I'm scanning the rates I would prefer fewer decimal places,

Rosie Hancock
