Single household, different data sets
Hi
I think I know the answer to this having read around the forum but want to just check. My question is:
I have used Moneydance for years on a Mac, my wife doesn't use software but is now interested in doing so. My data set relates to my accounts.
Can I just install MD on her Windows 10 pc and create a new dataset that relates just to her accounts. I don't want confusions arising so that my own dataset is mixed with entries she might have put in. So the default login on each computer will be different.
I want to keep them separate but use the same activation key.
Can I do this by just setting up MD on her computer as a new dataset. She has no data to import.
Many thanks for your help
Kind regards
David

Hi David,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
For personal use, we ask that you buy just one license per household, no matter how many computers you install it on, operating systems you use, people who use Moneydance, or data files you create.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi David
Once you install Moneydance and entered your key on your wife computer you can create a new data set which will be completely independent from your data set.
Hope this helps.

In addition, Moneydance will open in the Welcome window as displayed in this article.
You can create a new file by selecting "Create New Account Set".
Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!
