Sort transactions in reminder
I have setup reminders to auto-commit.
I have a number of reminders to auto-commit in one day each month,
My wage is also entered for that day.
How can I setup which order the payments on that day go into the register so as my wage goes in before payments are made and makes my account look like it overdrawn.
I am looking at future cashflow with the extension "Forcaster".

Hi Mick,
Try sorting the register by 'Date/Amount'.
The thinking is that doing so will enter deposits before payments, hopefully avoiding the misleading negative balance.
To do so, right-click (CTRL-click for Mac) any txn.
From the resulting context menu, select: Sort By > Date/Amount

Hi,
Have tried BOTH, with no luck.
I just want to enter transactions in a order that I want, as I said it seems to put things in on one day and you can't change the order, and your balance looks bad as your pay cheque went in last.

Hi Mick,
'Date/Amount' is not two different sort options, it is one option to sort by Date and then Amount.
Look carefully at the 'Sort By' options for 'Date/Amount'.

Hi,
That looks a lot better now, but it only looks good in the register with the ones showing including the advanced auto-commit ones.
In the extention "Forcaster" it looks bad after a month again as this does the same, is there anyway to get future amounts in to the register so as to see a forcast like MS Money did ?

Hi,
Things look a lot better now, thanks.
I have been messing around with things, and have set ALL my reminders to "auto-commit " EVERY" 365 days, the register now shows up to 12 months in advance, (highlighted in yellow) with a running total.
I know I should not get reminders, but I will wait and see, looking at the register for the future, I can now see any problems before hand.
I will NOT close this discussion until I am happy this has worked, or until someone else comes up with an answer before, as it may be helpful to others if it works.

UPDATE:
After messing around with the reminders, I am finding that they DO NOT UPDATE FAST. I have noticed that if I change them they do not change in the register, I have to close Moneydance, and restart it for the changes to take place (is this a bug ???).
But once I have gone through the transactions for the future with a calcalator, they seem to be ok :)
Will carry on trying it out, as this is looking good to what I need.

Hi Mick,
There appears to be a bug in Moneydance where, if you go to the Reminders calendar from the left sidebar column, the calendar won't update immediately after entering a new reminder, requiring you to change months or leave the calendar in some other way to have the changes show up in the calendar. I've attached the ticket in our ticketing system regarding this issue to this discussion, so the developers are looking into it.
If you go to the Reminders calendar by going to Tools -> Reminders, the calendar does refresh properly.
