Hi Millie,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
In order to "edit" a transaction you should double click on it. For further details please refer to this article of the Knowledge base.
Additionally, you can see this article called Create, edit or delete Categories .
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Thank you,
I'm new to Moneydance and have another question. I don't understand the
"memorize" instructions. If I create a reminder for a monthly bill and want
to memorize that transaction, is creating the reminder automatically
memorizing it? And is it possible to have that monthly bill automatically
be loaded in the checking account?
Thank you,
Millie

I'm a fellow user.
Which 'memorize' instruction are you referring to?
A reminder is effectively a transactions that is remembered and presented at the time period you specify either for you to commit to the register or that is automatically committed.
A reminder can be automatically applied in Moneydance but it will not be automatically sent to your bank to have it acted upon, that you must always take specific action to occur (assuming your bank supports Application based online banking).

Moneydance does not automatically initiate bill pay transactions. However, when creating your transaction reminder, you can choose not to auto-commit it to the register. This will keep it as a transaction you have to choose to apply from your Summary page. You can then choose to "Send Online Payment" at the same time you choose to apply that transaction to your register as outlined here.

Thank you,
I have created reminders but how do I make them automatically enter into my
register? Once I create a reminder is it automatic? If a reminder is set
for October 1, will it automatically enter into my checking account
register?
Thank you,
Millie

When you set up a Transaction reminder there is a checkbox option to automatically commit the transaction to the register, as well as how many days before it is due to commit the transaction to the register, you can set it to 0 to commit it on the day.

Thank you, that's awesome!!!
Can you please also tell me why my savings account does not appear on the
summary side on the left? My checking account shows but not the savings
account. It pops up below the menu but does not show underneath BANK under
Summary.
Thank you,
Millie

You can select the '+' button at the bottom left of the Side bar.
In the resulting window, you can select the account name and select 'Add'.
Also, selecting 'Advanced' will expand the window, making it easier for you to add and remove multiple items at once, as outlined here.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Can you please tell me how to delete a reminder?
I wanted to change the date of a reminder from the 6th to the 9th but I
can't figure out how to delete the reminder on the 6th. Hitting delete
reminder doesn't do anything.
Thank you,
Millie

Hello Millie,
To clarify, are you wanting to change just the latest instance of this reminder transaction (like just for this month), or to make the change for all future transactions as well? Assuming it is the latter, it sounds like you actually want to edit the reminder, not delete it. Click on your reminders in the left sidebar near the top. In the window that appears, click and open the reminder you want to edit. You should be able to change the day of the week this reminder occurs from there, which will apply to all future transactions moving forward.

Morning,
I should have done that. But I created another reminder for the same auto
deposit. Now I have two reminders on different days and don't know how to
delete one of them.
Thank you,
Millie

Try the following:
- Click on Reminders in the side bar to open the Reminders window
- Select the reminder you wish to delete
- Click on the "-" sign at the bottom of the reminders pane
- Confirm to want to delete the reminder

Morning
Thank you, I highlighted the reminder on the menu on the right and deleted
the reminder and created a new one.
Thank you again,
Happy New Year!
