importing transactions

why won't moneydance let me import transactions from a downloaded file? can't go online, the bank doesn't support moneydance. i've been confirming transactions and there seems to be no end to the process. is that the reason? how do I just say "confirm everything" and be done with it?

Hello,
I'm a bit confused by your question, because you seem to mention not being able to import a downloaded file, but then you write about confirming transactions, which would imply that you are indeed able to import transactions? Or were these from a different file?
The confirmation process should indeed end when you have confirmed all downloaded transactions. Is this not what is happening for you?
Could you please clarify the situation a bit, including the type of file you are trying to import, and the version of Moneydance you are using?

question was badly worded. Once again with feeling. After downloading a
substantial number of transactions and importing them into the program
and then reconciling to the latest statement, I then began the process
of confirming them. It is at this point that the program does not allow
me to import any more transactions. To put a fine point on it, do I need
to confirm every transaction before importing more? I'm using the latest
version of Moneydance, just downloading and registering it in the past
few days.

Hello,
Thanks for the clarification. You do not have to confirm all transactions before importing more. In general there aren't restrictions on importing transactions; you would just end up with more unconfirmed transactions in your situation. Can you clarify what happens when you try to import more? Do you get an error message, and if so, what does it say? Which file type are you trying to import (OFX, QFX, QIF,...)?
