Hello,

I’ve been using Moneydance for decades. I think I bought a license for my current computer in 2012. My laptop is giving up on life and needs to be replaced. I will probably buy the most current version of Moneydance once I get a new Mac, will my existing MD data transfer without issues?

Thanks,

    Hi Denise
I know you can definitely use your existing data file but I also know moving from MD2012 to MD2022 in one step is maybe not a good idea. I know there are several helpful folk here who know the best way to achieve this. I think it means installing one or more later versions of MD, and updating your data file as you go, ending up with installing the latest MD2022 and installing you data file there. Hope this helps and someone else chimes in for you soon.
    Cheers…

The process to follow depends on if you have set a master password on your data in Moneydance 2012.
