In the report space you have the Income and Expense report which is your upper level summary, but if you want detail you use the Income and Expense (Detailed) Report.

For what you are asking for a new "reporting" system would have to be created.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/575554522023-01-15T17:38:31Z2023-01-15T17:38:31ZIs there parent category graph & report function now?

That’s not what I was looking for unfortunately, I actually don’t know why there is this parent child category thing if there is actually no parent report. And one of the reason I switch from another software to moneydance, because I can create my own parent category, but it seems pointless now if there is no parent category report at all. Guess I have to switch to another software then.

The parent is the top level category, below that you have sub categories, sub-sub categories etc.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/575554522023-01-31T23:29:45Z2023-01-31T23:29:52ZIs there parent category graph & report function now?

I would suggest looking at the report writer extension.
I struggled with the standard reports for this for years.
Now I have report writer output 6 years of transactions into a CSV and I have various excel pivots link to that to creat my own reports that I can interact with.
Textsplit formula is handy to split out the full category into different columns for the pivot.

simon
