Sidebar balance view not changing
For some reason the balance of my checking account shown in the sidebar is incorrect. The current balance in my account is roughly $1500.00, but the running balance in the sidebar shows about $114,000.00. I've tried changing the balance view in preferences, but no matter which view I choose (balance, current balance, cleared balance) the view in the sidebar doesn't change. I've restarted the program and rebooted my computer and the view still doesn't change.

When viewing your register for this account, if you click on the balance line in the bottom right of the screen, a popup should appear showing the different balance types for that account. Do any of those correspond with what you are seeing in your sidebar?
Do you have any subaccounts for the account in question? Those could be affecting the balance of the parent account in your sidebar, if that's relevant to your account organization.

Thank you for your response. The balance line at the bottom of the screen
is correct. I do not have any sub accounts associated with this.
It's the running balance in the sidebar that's incorrect. It's like it's
showing me a running total of every transaction I've ever entered. I've
never had that much money in this account before.

just a user - wild thought, since I don't see the whole screen, but is this sorted by date?

Yes, it is sorted by date and set to show current balance. I ended up restoring from a previous back-up and that did the trick.

Ok, I'm glad to hear things seem to be sorted out, although it's unclear what happened. If it occurs again, let us know and we can try to dig deeper.
