Sharing Moneydance app vs data?
Hello, have seen a few older questions/discussion regarding the ability to share the MD data file between a couple of computers (self and spouse). The question I have is, does that require a separate purchase of Moneydance for spouse to use? I looked in the family purchases and don't see where Moneydance appears in the spousal purchases to download. So not looks like it, but want to confirm before further consideration of our approach to managing our family's financial data.
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers.

No. You don’t need another license. Just download the app and use the same license.
Synchronise the data with file/syncing/Dropbox folders on primary. And then file/new/open sync’d folder.

Thanks! Fantastic. So even though the button displays $49.95, one is not actually charged until a license is purchased after the download?

Just download and install from here... Do not click purchase. Once installed, click the register option within the app and enter the code you purchased before. MAKE SURE all installations are same version...

Fantastic. Thanks. Was just looking at the App Store. I'll direct the wife to this website.

Ah. Where did you purchase the main license from?

If you purchased from Apple's App Store it is possible to take advantage of family sharing.
I extracted the following from another discussion
To take advantage of Apple Family sharing on your Mac that has been purchased by a family member, you can follow the steps in this article -
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201085
On the purchasers Mac -
• Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing.
• Confirm the Apple ID that you want to use for Family Sharing and make sure Share My Purchases is selected.
• Then follow the onscreen instructions.
On other Macs -
• Open the App Store.
• Click your name in the bottom corner. If you don't see your name, click the Sign In button, then click your name.
• To see a family member's content, click your name next to Purchased by. Then choose a family member's name from the list that appears.
• Download the app that you want.
Software purchased from the AppS tore can only use Dropbox Connection or iCloud for sharing the data.

Thanks. I thought I replied via email earlier, but for some reason it was not sent. I was able to determine that I did purchase it from Moneydance. Wife has already downloaded it and I am getting her set ups. Thanks much for your most effective and thorough assistance.

Just to be clear, for non-business use, our licensing policy allows you to install the version of Moneydance you have purchased on as many computers as you need in your household, regardless of operating system. Simply use the same license key you are given for your initial purchase on your other household computers.
And just to make sure you have followed the correct process, information for setting up syncing between computers can be found at: https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/syncing-and-sharing-data/sync...

Thanks, much! This will help me tremendously as the wife can now enter her purchases while they are fresh in her mind. Appreciate all the assistance!

Good morning. I downloaded MD from the InfiiniteKind website onto my wife's computer and could not see where to select a version. I thought perhaps having the exact same versions would only be critical for file sharing, which I wasn't planning to do at first. I was going to set here up with an empty shell that had all the cateories and just import her entered transactions. Anyway, my IK registration key did not work on her version. So I downloaded the current version onto my computer to see if it was that I had not yet registered the same version on hers. Now we both have version 2022.6 (4097) and my registration number is being rejected on both. Any suggestions? It's Tax season and I need to finish (of course - waiting until the last minute). Thanks!

NVM. Figured it out, I had never done the paid upgrade to 2022. Did it and we are in business. Thanks.
