Stock Prices List

This may sound a daft question so if it is I apologise.

I have a number of Old Investment Accounts which remain stored in MoneyDance for Historical Information purposes (and because my active accounts used to interact with them i.e. Add money to buy more securities etc) - these old Investment Accounts have now been set to Inactive - that's all fine. But they had a lot of Stocks and Funds which I used capture History for to keep the latest fund value visible. Since the accounts became inactive, I no longer need the Fund Prices, so set Quote Loader to not download them - BUT 1) The Stock prices extension view on the Summary page still shows them (its getting longer and longer) and 2) I don't know if I can delete them as I don't know the effect on the closed accounts?

It would be great if they Could be deleted from the Securities List without affecting anything else - i.e. Old Accounts Registers where I did buy those funds and subsequently sold them - I still want it shown there... but in truth I am a little nervous to delete them in case they disappear.

Or

A way of Marking them Inactive in the Securities view so they don't keep showing in the Stock Prices List and lengthening my list. Quote Loader could then I assume have an option to ignore Inactive Securities.

Any advice would be appreciated.

just a user - don't delete anything. use inactive whenever possible.

If you have an issue with datafile size - use shrink dataset in toolbox.

if not, just you don't want to see them! there have been actions in progress to address exactly your concern - don;t show old stuff - sure leave it there - just don't bug me with it.

It's very early morning for me - but I'm sure others will chime in with more information on what can or cannot do at this point in time.

One thing that has happened is they don't alwasys show up in the securities graph anymore - making securities "inactive" is a current process.

Thanks DTD - I have found an option on the Securities Edit Option per security which is a Tick box for Show on Summary Page - this has don't what I needed initially and removed it from the Stock List - a bit manual - editing and ticking each one - it would be good if the Stock list widget had a way of doing it globally but it works - so at least that one is being sorted - thanks for your advice - maybe that option could be changed from Show On Summary page - to Active/Inactive then others like Quote Loader could use them to know what to download - just a thought.

I am not support staff, just a user.
    Hi Rich W

In Quote Loader the following rules already exist:
If “Include Securities with no holding?” box is ticked in Parameter tab then:
    a. If a security is assigned to an investment account, but has a zero balance, then it will appear whether or not it is listed in the Stock Prices section on the Summary Page.
    b. If a security is not assigned to an investment account, then it will only appear if it is listed in the Stock Prices section on the Summary Page.

For a Security to be listed on the Summary page it must be selected in Moneydance to “Show on summary page” under TOOLS – SECURITIES select security - EDIT.

If “Include Securities with no holding?” box on the Parameter tab is not ticked then securities with no holdings will not appear.

    Have Fun, Stay Safe.
