Migration of Program & Data Files
[I previously submitted the below, but as a Private inquiry. This is now Public since perhaps a broader audience might have experience in these issues.]
I have purchased three (3) licenses for MD, they, chronologically, being for OS/2; Windows; and Linux.
The first program, OS/2, is not an issue.
The second program, Windows, resides on a computer w/ which I am now having problems of access to the Windows partition. I can access the program and data files from my OS/2 platform on that computer. Since the license was purchased in 2015 I do not seem to any longer have the e-mail w/ the license number. Can I just copy the program directory to a different computer, and still run it w/out a problem?
The third program, Linux, can be run on two different computers here. Will copying the data file from the Windows system allow me to open and run them w/out any problem?
[After submitting the above the Website suggested some pages I might review; one of them had a subheading entitled "File Locations and Changes → Moving to a new computer". The below was in response thereto.]
It seems the third question, regarding transferring the data file to one of my Linux platforms may have been answered. I have generated a PDF of those instructions to best enable me to implement them.
The second question, though, presents a problem - since I am unable to open Windows, and thus can't verify either the version or license number; the license was purchased from BMT Micro. I'll try to hunt around in the directory and see if I can locate a file that might advise the version number and license number.

The license key will be in a file in your .moneydance folder under your home directory called config.dict.
The first part of the key should tell us the version it is for, but also the first part of the file errlog.txt will tell us the exact version you are running.
A version for OS/2 would be quite old and if the same file works on all system it like likely to be pre Moneydance 2012.

OK, all is now Well-and-Good!
Though it wasn't easy I finally found - using DFSee, the wonderful disk and
file utility - the hidden directory on C Drive. It contained both of the
files and I discovered the License Key down in the various lines. I also
ascertained from the second file that the Version is 2015.8 (1372).
More importantly I discovered also from the files that I was looking in the
wrong place for the data file. (I long ago, when starting to use OS/2 Warp
3 followed the recommended process of creating separate partitions for the
OS, applications and data.) It turned out here that I had inadvertently
created a directory for MD data files on TWO separate FAT32 partitions and
was looking in the wrong place for the recent file; I knew that to be safe
I wanted to store the data separately and was horrified I couldn't find it.
Whew, thanks to the entry in the files you suggested I now have them and
am copying them to a flash drive for use on the operating computer.
Thanks Much for the guidance!
