iCloud sync issue on Sonoma?
Has Moneydance 2024 5117 completely fixed the iCloud slow sync issue on Sonoma? I really don't want to go back to using Dropbox and hence I have stayed on Ventura with Monsydance 2023. Would love to be able to upgrade to Sonoma but I have been waiting for the 'fix'.
Has that been achieved?
I assume I should update to Moneydance 2024 5117 before update to Sonoma? Is that right?

There is no fix per se - Apple fundamentally changed how iCloud works, and it works against many many tiny files (which is how Moneydance syncs - each action generates a very small file.)
That said, the first release of 2024 (which was 5113) has this in the change notes:
* Faster syncing with iCloud Drive due to a new implementation
My impression, from others who have moved to the 2024 version is that it is indeed better, still a bit slow, but acceptably slow versus rainbows spinning for a long time.
As to updating, you can go either/or, but it might be a little simpler to do 5117 first, see if you like it (no, you won't be testing iCloud with Sonoma) and then you could back off to 5064 if things seem wrong. Moving to Sonoma is pretty much a one way door (i.e. go through don't come back)
I personally have been on Sonoma for a while, but yes I use dropbox.
Hope that helps.

Thankyou dtd
I'll probably update to 2024 in a little while, but leave my Macbook on Ventura at the moment.( It all works so well with iCloud the way it is).
Perhaps you might be able to answer one more question? I have updated my ipad to the latest iOS, but I haven't needed to use the shared Moneydance file on it since the last update from Apple. Is it right that I should not use the program on that device until I eventually upgrade the computer to Sonoma?

I honestly don't know the answer to your question about iOS since I haven't experienced it.
My impression is that the issue is Sonoma, not iOS, but don't depend on my ingorance here.

Unfortunately, I just upgraded to Moneydance 2024 and can say, for me, despite the promise of faster iCloud synching, that the slow synching is still significant and far from acceptable.
I regret wasting my money on this upgrade based on a false promise.

You should ask for a refund, and return to 2023.3(5064), if that is how you feel.
If you are not satisfied, refunds are always one way to go.
Also, you are never required to upgrade, so if you feel you upgraded on a false promise, then you should ask for the upgrade to be undone...

Well ,last week I updated to Moneydance 2024. 5118 and everything worked fine and there has been no delay in syncing, BUT I am still on Ventura and will stay that way until I know that there has been a further change in the background syncing on Sonoma. I work on two separate MacBooks and up to this time I have really enjoyed the convenience of iCloud syncing, and I don't need to download Sonoma for any other application at this time. I'll keep watching for updates of Sonoma and Moneydance.
