I know there must be a simple answer to this, but to save my life I can't figure out how to set the transaction reminder date in Moneydance to the third Thursday of every month. Thanks for your help.

    I'm a fellow user.

    Try the following.

    - Weekly Reminder
    - Select Repeat on Every third
    - Select Thursday

Thank you for the suggestion, my friend, but unfortunately it is not every third week on Thursday I need, but the third Thursday of each month.

It seems such an obvious need, but the monthly settings do not appear to allow for it. I must be missing something. It is easy to set a date such as the 16th of each month, but the third Thursday isn't always on the 16th (or whenever).

Jon, I think this will work for you, as I don't see a difference between "every third week on thursday" and "third Thursday of each month". Did you try it?

I just created a test reminder, and it put May 16 as the first choice, and June 20 as the second choice, and July 18 as the third - isn't this what you were asking for?

Is the distinction for you to not count the number of Thursdays, which I think is what most people want, and instead count the number of weeks regardless of if they have a Thursday in them yet or not? So if a month started on Saturday, that would still count as week 1, then you would want the transaction to appear on the Thursday in week 3, even though in this example it would only be the second Thursday in the month?

If so, I don't recall receiving a request like this before, and I can't think of a setting that would allow this.

Ethan - I think he's asking the opposite - he wants to think about the month versus the week. Still, I think it's basically the same.
