General question about reports
I can't seem to figure this out. I'm trying to generate a report in MD that summarizes an expense category by month, for a period of - let's say a year. I am able to summarize a category over a defined period, say a month, or quarter or year but I can't compare the periods to one another.
Let's say I want to know how much I spent on streaming each month for the past 3 years. I can tell you how much I spent in total in 3 years, just not by month.
Any recommendations?
PS. I'll add that the budget view would be perfect if it wasn't so noisy with the budget & difference columns......

A couple of options
1. Income and Expense report
Select the date period, select group by month, select the category required
2. Transaction filter report.
Select the date period, select category and select subtotal by month.
