Moneydance 2014?
Oh really? Never would have known. Check for new updates in in MD 2012 says I am up to date (2012.5 build 862. Guess not. Found out only because I came here with a 2012.5 problem:
I can't seem to delete Securities that I haven't owned or tracked for years. A legacy from Quicken. The message reads "cannot remove currency that is being used" What does that mean? It's not a currency I am deleting. Oh and the currency in the edit window is incorrectly canadian dollars when my currency throughout MD is USD. Changing to USD in the edit window for the securities still does not allow me to delete and with the same message. What am I to do?

Hi,
We just released Moneydance 2014 a few days ago. Usually we put it up on the website a week or two before we push it on the updater extension. This spreads out the load for tech support requests a little bit.
Regarding deleting securities, if you have transactions that record securities you would need to delete the record of those transactions in order to delete the security. We have a feature request to make it such that you can hide securities that are no longer used but still have them in your records.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support

Jon,
I'm in the same position as adisler in that I had no idea Moneydance 2014 was released and Moneydance 2012 continues to inform me there aren't any new updates. Maybe this is because there aren't any new updates to Moneydance 2012?
Regardless, it would have been nice if The Infinite Kind had informed current users of Moneydance about the release of Moneydance 2014. Apparently, it was announced and made available more than a month ago. The only reason I became aware of it was because a friend asked me about Moneydance and I needed to send him a link to your web site.
Other publishers inform me when they release an update to their software. The Infinite Kind should do the same.
Robert

Hi Robert,
Even though we did beta-testing, we had more bugs then we cared for show up in the release of 2014. We announce it on the website and hold off on the updater extension for just this circumstance. Several of the bugs were hard to track down and it is only recently that we have cleared them up. We plan to announce the update soon via the extension. I understand your disappointment in not being notified, but frankly it was a bit of a favor, as if you had a certain set up there might have been some annoying bugs that you instead were spared from.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoover, Moneydance Support
