My admin is in GBP and I have an EUR account. I use the Extract Data Extention
If I book a GBP ammount the Tot Amount is GBP and Foreign Amount is EUR
However if I book a EURO amount on this account the Tot Amount is EURO and the Foreign Amount is EURO (Exchange rate = 1)
In the 2012 version the Main Amount is always GBP, even if the transaction is in EURO and the account is in EURO.

What do I miss?

Well. What does the register show you?

Send screenshots of the example transactions in the register.

    In simple terms:
    - the base currency is irrelevant. - what matters are a) the currency of the account, b) the currency of the category being used.

A txn in a Euro account will always be local amount euros.
The fx amount will match the currency of the target account/category
