Update MD and move to Linux
I've been using MD for several years. Works great & very satisfied. Currently, I'm using ver 2012.5 (862) on a Mac. I want to update to current and run it on Linux. What is the cost? How do I make the change? Any issues I need to know about? Any limitations on Linux that aren't on the Mac?

Hi Feffer777,
If you have a 2011 or 2012 Moneydance license, then you can go to:
http://infinitekind.com/purchase
and enter your license key in the "Upgrading?" box to receive a 50% discount off the full price of Moneydance. There aren't any issues with switching operating systems and your data is compatible with all operating systems.
To make the change, you'll simply download and install Moneydance 2015 on your Linux computer from here:
http://infinitekind.com/downloads
then move your data set from your Mac to your Linux computer. To move your data set to a new computer, I'd recommend following these instructions:
http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2014/how-to-move-your-data-file-to-a-different-location-in-moneydance-2012-and-above
to move your data set to a USB drive or your Dropbox folder (or whatever your preferred method is for sharing data between your two computers), then move your data set from there to your computer's hard drive and open it with Moneydance from there.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

OK, bought 2015 and downloaded 64-bit ver to Ubuntu. But had a hitch on install. Ubuntu reports:
"The Package is of Bad Quality"
The details show it doesn't like the Java (jre) items. I have the choice to install anyway. I will, but thought you should know about this.

Thanks for letting us know, I'll pass that on to our developers. Let us know if anything appears to be wrong with the program itself.
