Change settings for editing transactions
Every time I go to edit a transaction it opens up a new screen/page with all transactions on and I have to select the transaction for a second time and also have an unwanted page to close when I have finished. I just want to edit the transaction in the screen I am on. How do I change the settings to do this? It is becoming very annoying and I have looked through the settings in MD and in the knowledge base and can't find anything relevant.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

Double clicking on a field in the register should take that field into edit mode, nothing more. Is this not happening?

Hi jojo,
The only way that I can reproduce this behavior is when double-clicking on a transaction in a report.
Can you confirm that this is what you are describing?
If so, this is the expected behavior. It is the feature of drilling down to the transaction in question.

Hi Kevin
Yes, I am double clicking. I want to edit but I don't want it to open a new window. I have just realised that I can do it by clicking on the transaction and pressing enter or by right click and choose edit. I'm pretty sure that double clicking on older versions just allowed you to edit without opening a new window.

This is happening to me. When I go to Confirm transactions from a credit card download. If I want to change the assigned category (which always defaults to "Auto"), I can't double click on the category name to change it. If I keep after it, it sometimes will allow it, but it's regularly not allowing me to edit the Category.
