Macos Tahoe, aka OS v26
On Monday 14th Apple is releasing a new OS that impacts software UI. I don’t know if Java apps are impacted but I’m aware that developers are re-writing their Apple specific software to make the UI friendly to this new OS.
Is anyone running the beta versions and can comment on MD compatibility under iOS and MacOS?

I'm wondering the same thing. I have been running the iOS beta and haven't noticed any issues so far. But I'm concerned about upgrading my Mac with Tahoe and running into incompatibility issues. As I recall the previous OS update caused some major issues... Hopefully someone from Infintekind will respond soon and let us know if it's safe to upgrade.

I have been running the RC and now release version of MacOS. 26.0 - no issues seen with Moneydance so far but of course, there could be some features I don't use that could have issues?

Thank you @agildogs & @SteS for confirming no unusual issues w/ 26 running MD. I haven’t decided yet whether to update now or wait for the next update. Complicating this decision is delivery on Friday of new device and not sure if it is preloaded w/ 26 or earlier. So waiting seems prudent.

I haven't updated my Mac to Tahoe. It's just the iOS (iPhone, iPad) that I have updated. Wish Infinitekind would let us know if it's safe to update to Mac OS Tahoe.

Communication is not the best face of InfiniteKind/MoneyDance. More of a less is more approach. However, I can report that I am running Mac OS26 on an M2 MacBook (2022). It is running flawlessly.
And, I am surprised that overall OS 26 is going well.

@agildogs @jonathan
I updated my Mac to Tahoe. I have not seen any issues yet running MD on my M4 mini.
Seems good to me.

I've been running macOS 26 for a while now and haven't had any issues as a user or moneydance developer. If you don't mind the new macOS interface then I'd say go ahead and upgrade.
Thanks,
Sean

It's good to know. I see there are people who don't like the new liquid glass look. I've already updated my iPhone and it's just okay. I can deal with it. I object more to Apple moving buttons and such around and things like that.

Unfortunately, the Apple's and Microsoft's of this world think they know better what users need and want, I rarely see how they move things around making systems any better to use, and each successive version seems ever more bloated and resource hungry.

I practice in San Francisco, what used to be tech gulch. In general, I have found that the tech companies and their workers don’t know the very basics of their trade. Example: the research produced by Xerox-Parc which is what made Apple, Apple. Not only are the systems more bloated, but they are also less intuitive and more difficult to work with.
And it’s not only the operating systems. It’s the applications, and the web sites of hundreds of companies. The kids who create these things don’t have any knowledge about human interface. I think Mr Jobs would be appalled if were here now.
And the lack of basics are quite apparent in other professions as well.

I worked for tech companies for over 20 years, one based in SF, one in Houston and one in Maynard and in the finance industry before that for over 10 years, I'm well used to some of the cluelessness that is around, much of which starts at the top, and also some product people who think they know everything.
