Deleting Duplicate Transactions after QIF import from Bank

I imported a year's worth of transactions from my bank in QIF and I have duplicates of seemingly every transaction. Simply selecting a transaction and clicking on the dlelete key opens a window asking me if I want to dleelte the slected . I click yes--but it doesn't delete.

The merge options don't seem to work (unless I am misunderstanding how to use them).
This is making my book keeping way more cumbersome than hand entering the data to the MoneyDance ledger.

any suggestions? I am using MoneyDance 2015 on a Mac.

    Hi Gale,

Deleting a downloaded transaction will cause it to be downloaded again. Instead, you should merge the transactions and accept with their duplicate instead of deleting them.

When you highlight an unconfirmed transaction a matching panel will pop up on the right side of the screen which will contain suggested options for you to choose how to handle the transaction. If the transaction is close to identical to one already in the register one of these options will be a MERGE option with the existing hand entered transaction. Select the merge option and click the Accept button to merge the two. Can you also amended the following settings - Moneydance --> Preferences --> Network, and turning on the option "Automatically merge downloaded transactions".

You can read more about Merging transactions on Page 38 of the User Guide.

If the 'merge' function doesn't appear to be working in this way, can you send me the output of your Console Log? To do this run Moneydance and select Help --> Console Window. Then, copy and paste the output of the console window to this discussion.
