Confusion continues - all the articles I'm finding tell me how to import my data from Quicken or other programs. I don't have any other programs. I've tried Mint and Personal Capital online, but do not have a QIF file to import. Can I really not set up direct links to all the financial accounts I have? there must be a way...

You can set up Direct Connect for your accounts if the financial institution supports this. The institutions that are known to support this and that moneydance has the connection information for are listed at:

Institutions generally though only provide a limited amount of data that can be downloaded this way often 60-90 days worth. To get further history they may make downloads available in formats like QIF or OFX which you would have to download and import. It depends when you want to start using Moneydance from.

Thank you. You're telling me that I CAN do it, but what is baffling me is HOW to do it? I simply cannot see anything in the menu bar that involves connecting to my banking, brokerage, mortgage, credit card, etc., accounts. How do I do it?

Thank you. You've told me that this CAN be done, but not HOW. i want to be able to open Moneydance and have the latest updates from all my accounts be provided automatically. Is that possible? If so, HOW do I do that? Compared to other programs, it is very unintuitive. Thanks again.

Hi Charles,

Can you give me the name(s) of the financial institution(s) you're trying to connect to? To set up online banking you'll need to click to select the account that you would like to link, and then click the Online menu -> Set Up Online Banking. You can read about this process on page 7 of the Moneydance user guide here.
