lost network connection

I work between 2 computers on a network. I recently installed windows 10 and have lost the connection for Moneydance (everything else is still networked)

Now when I click the moneydance symbol on the network on the other computer it just comes up with the front page to set up a new accounts file!

Please help

    Hi Sara,

    Can you confirm you're sharing your data between two computers on your local network? We'd always recommend using Dropbox when sharing data between computers, and you can follow these steps to set this up.

    I'd be happy to try and provide assistance if you'd prefer not to use Dropbox. It sound as though MD is unable to locate your data, so within MD you should click File --> Open --> Open Other, and navigate to your data set. You're looking for a 'yourfilename.moneydance file/folder.

    Yes we are sharing between 2 computers. When I click on open other I look
    on the network and I can see the money dance icon and click that but nothing
    happens - so I am not finding the original shared file - where do I need to

    Hi Sara,

    The main data set will have been stored in the shared folder location if this was being shared between systems. If it hasn't been moved, then it should still be there.

    Can you try searching your system for '.moneydance' to try and locate any other copies of the 'yourfilename'.moneydance data set?

    If it appears the file you've already attempted to open is the only data set available, can you try moving it from the shared location to your local hard drive. Then use Open Other to open the data from the new location, and see if you're able to access the file.
