Safe to delete mdtxnarchive files?
My MoneyDance data folder has grown quite large (just under 400MB). Keeping 3 backups means the entire .moneydance folder is well over 1GB. I found the culprit is the "archive" folder in the data folder (.moneydance/Documents/finances.moneydance/safe/archive), which contains 103 "mdtxnarchive" files. There is one for each month going all the way back to 2016 (201612) and progressively getting larger for the most part (202509 is about 11MB).
BLUF: what is the impact of deleting some of these files that are almost 10 years old? does each new file created contain the contents of the previous one (i.e., keeping the last year's worth of files more than sufficient)?
Thanks!
-Ernie

Assuming you are on a recent MD version, install and run toolbox extension, update mode, advanced menu, shrink dataset (1 days)...
