Empty "root" account after upgrade
I just upgraded to 2017 from 2012. I have an empty account in the "bank" section corresponding to the "root" account before (the top of the account tree before which was the "file" name). Is it safe to delete this account?

Hi,
Sorry to hear of this bit of strange behaviour you have experienced when upgrading. If the account is empty of information, then you should be fine to remove it. However, before making this change I would recommend taking backup of your Moneydance data set. You can do this within Moneydance by navigating to File --> Export Backup.
You also have the option to hide the account without deleting. With the account in question selected in the sidebar you can select Account --> Edit Account. Here you will see the options to mark as 'Inactive' and to 'Hide on the Summary Page'. You can then right click the account in the sidebar and select 'Remove from Sidebar'.
