Extensions Missing
The Extensions pull down menu is almost blank: Manage
Extensions, and that's it. No "Add" or listing. The Extensions
listing on the "Home Page" is very limited, and contains no mention
of Yahoo Quotes or Synchronization.

Hi
In the last few days a problem has emerged with the data that yahoo have been providing. We have removed the extension form the downloads list until the issue has been resolved. We are fairly confident that the problem lies with yahoo and hope that they will fix the issue soon. As soon as the data feed is correct again we will make the extension available again.
Sincerely

any chance of changing the data feed to Google?

Hi Jim,
Unfortunately, I don't believe Google supplies current price information in their file downloads, which is why we're been using Yahoo.

I always just pick up their real-time feed with http (http://www.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:AAPL). Dunno how you'd parse that out exactly.

That would involve screen-scraping, which we try to avoid since companies change their websites frequently, which can quickly break our extension. The nice thing about Yahoo is that they offer a CVS file download of stock information, which we can easily use to get prices. Obviously, this can change as well, but generally changes less frequently.

Hi,
We have implemented the fix for the Quotes and Exchange Rate Updater. To either install or update it to the fixed version please go to Extensions -> Manage Extensions, and select Upgrade or Install to download Version 73.
Thank you all for your patience, we apologize for the inconvenience.
Sincerely,

I can't find the stock quote synchronizer extension. It's not in my list and when I go to extensions / add / internet / there is nothing (at all) there.
10 Posted by Ben Spencer on Aug 07, 2011 @ 08:14 AM
Hi Chris
The Stock Quotes Synchroniser extension is no-longer available. It has been replaced with an extension called Quotes and Exchange Rates updater. You should install that one instead.

I've got that installed. I thought I was missing something because when
update runs, it always says 33 skipped and 25 updated. How do I add /
delete securities from the updater? Thanks for your promptness on a Sunday

Hi Chris,
I don't believe that there is any manual way to add or delete securities from the Q&ER updater.
The 33 skipped securities are securities that you no longer hold. Nothing to be concearned about.

Actually it is concerning because two of the missing securities I do hold.
Since I can't add or delete them manually from the update can I just delete
them all, remove the.updater, then add everything again and reload the
update?

Hi Chris,
In the lower left-hand corner of the Q&ER updater there is a checkbox to 'Only show securities that I own' . Make sure that's checked. Then make sure the check boxes for each security are checked. You can easily do so by clicking the checkbox at the very top of the list and choosing 'All'. Then run the Q&ER updater again.
I would also recommend that you look to this thread and maybe try the work-around that I'm using from post # 3.

I have difficulty obtaining stock price updates for some of the securities I own. By way of example, I have some Allianz RCM BRIC Stars Fund A which from Yahoo Finance appears to have a ticker of GB00B0WDH725.L See http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=GB00B0WDH725.L%2C+&ql=0
It doesn't matter whether I select Yahoo Finance USA or UK as the source and choose London Exchange(s) or Default - all variations return an error. Anything to do with the Yahoo page saying quotes are in EUR maybe ?
I am using Moneydance 2011r2 (803) in the UK and working in GBP of course
Not sure if this is a new discussion - anyone got any ideas ?

Brian,
Unfortunately, there are certain classes of securities that yahoo does not provide a price for when you directly connect to its server, including UK mutual funds. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.
