Sun Java to be removed from Ubuntu ... what now?
I read that Sun Java is being removed from all recent versions of Ubuntu except 11.10:

I'm still using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, and I'm wondering if the MD team has heard about this change, and what it will do to Moneydance's operation on an affected computer? Thanks.

Hi John,
We have heard about this change, and we think it should have a minimal impact on our Linux users. For a while now, the default download of Moneydance has included it's own version of Java, so anyone who has done a default install in the last 18 months or so shouldn't notice a change.
Users of newer versions of Ubuntu can simply install OpenJDK 7, which is available in the repositories starting with 11.10. Users of older versions of Ubuntu should either make sure they are running the version of Moneydance that comes with Java, or should download and install Sun Java 6 directly from the Oracle website. However, for the majority of our Linux users, Moneydance should just keep working.
