<p>Moneydane recently employed the writer of the "Find and Replace"
extension. From a support perspective that is not equivalent to
Moneydance support is officially supporting this developers
previous work. I think that the developer of Find and replace is
likely best capable of assisting you and so I have forwarded your
enquiry to him.</p>
<p>Sincerely</p>

Moneydance will change security category either. I selected 2
transactions in my investment account, right clicked and chose
batch change - category, then picked a new category, it warned me
that the transaction had cleared, I clicked ok anyway, but it
didn't change anything.</p>
<p>I can change them individually, but there is no way to do it in
bulk. I hope someone can help me, it would take a long time to do
it one by one.</p></div>Randytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/2592782009-07-20T18:59:27Z2009-07-20T18:59:27ZFind and Replace Extension - Investment Account<div><p>Hi Randy</p>
<p>You are correct. There is a know problem with batch change
function with regard to investment accounts. I have reminded the
lead developer that another user is finding this bug to be highly
problematic. I do not have a date for when this bug will be
fixed.</p>
<p>I am terriably sorry fo the inconvienience this is causing
you.</p>
<p>Sincerely</p>

find criteria, and got it to work for me.</p>
<p>When I had the problem with the extension, for the find I had
chosen 2 investment accounts, search on a string of text in the
description (not the category), and tried to replace the security
category that way.</p>
<p>The way that worked for me was to limit the find to 1 account,
search on one category, then change the category. This seemed to
work ok. I guess the first find was too broad, but I think the
extension should have somehow prevented a change to the security
name instead.</p>
<p>Please forward this to the developer, but at least I can live
with it now.</p></div>Randytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/2592782009-07-20T20:13:16Z2009-07-20T20:13:16ZFind and Replace Extension - Investment Account<div><p>Hi Randy</p>
<p>I have forwarded your response to the developer. I am glad you
got it working.</p>
