Editing Transactions

I have just purchased Moneydancer, version 2024.4 (5253). I have downloaded a QIF file from my bank, and it has loaded without difficulty into the correct account. Previously, I had amended the Categories list to suit my preferences, but obviously none of the downloaded categories matches that revised list. Many of those transactions are repeated; is there any way I can edit one so that any others that are the same will also be amended to the correct category?

   Have you looked at the 'Find and Replace' extension, should do the trick.

   But there is more to it if dealing with downloaded transactions directly, which i don't do, but others here will help I am sure.

   Further to tonyt's advice, you may also find Batch Change https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/register-and-transactions/batch-change useful. With that, you can change the category of many items at once while in an ordinary account view, and/or from an ordinary or advanced search. But there's no option to "change this transaction and any others like it"; Batch Change does require you to deliberately select all transactions to be changed, though that can be as easy as Ctrl-A after a successful search.
