My two biggest irritations are Paypal and Amazon. In each case, Moneydance can make its best guess but it has no way of knowing what the transaction is likely to relate to. Has anyone found a solution? I have considered the possibility of setting them up as banks but haven't actually tried it.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your query.
The transaction data Paypal and Amazon provide simply doesn’t include enough detail for Moneydance to identify what each purchase relates to, so the software can only make its best guess when matching and categorising those entries.
At the moment, there isn’t a perfect workaround. Some users have tried setting them up as separate “bank” accounts, but this doesn’t really improve accuracy because the underlying issue is the limited information supplied by Paypal and Amazon.
For now, manually reviewing and categorising those transactions remains the most reliable approach. If either service begins providing richer data in the future, Moneydance will be able to take advantage of it.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
