Converting from Quicken Essentials
I select the Import from QEM button and select the .qjickendata file and it opens the file as if it is a directory and shows sub-directories but no files. There is a greyed out file named data but I can't select it. Please advise

I see Jessica's answer to David J. on Oct 21st. The Open File drop down box doesn't work.

Hi Jim,
What version of Moneydance are you using? This can be found by going to Help -> Console window in Moneydance.

Thanks for contacting me. Here's the console window. I tried changing the printing settings in Preferences as well as changing the display size setting in General. The only effect wast that a very large print setting such as 30 resulted in the report columns being misaligned but the text remained very small.

Hi Jim and David,
Could you try upgrading to the latest version of Moneydance and see if you're still having this issue? We've just released Moneydance 2012.2 and it fixes a lot of bugs from the first release, so it may fix this issue. It's located here:

Hi David,
Could you try locating the Quicken Essentials file in the Finder and then drag and drop it onto Moneydance to see if it imports then?

Hello,
Sorry, but I don´t understand what you mean. I tried to drag the quicken data to Moeydance but the file does not remain there.

After having problems trying to import Quicken Essentials Data into MoneyDance, I found that the easiest way to resolve this was to find the Quicken Data File that you want to import and do a File Open With and Select All Applications and then select MoneyDance to open the file. The import went very quickly after that.

Hi Greg,
Great, at least I managed to import the data. I will start reviewing it and report if everything went ok or not.
Thanks a lot.
