<p>The first thing you need to do is export your data to a Quicken
Interchange Format (QIF) file. The process for doing this varies
depending on the version of Quicken you are using. Here is a link
to some instructions I found for Quicken 2005 and earlier:
http://financialsoft.about.com/od/advancedtutorialsandtips/a/q04export.htm</p>
<p>Repeat the process for each account in Quicken.</p>
<p>There might be variations for your particular version and I am
not a Quicken expert. If you have trouble exporting your quicken
data the folks over at the Quicken Community might be able to
assist you. http://www.quickencommunity.com/</p>
<p>Once you have successfully got your qif files you need to move
it to your new Mac. The easiest way to do this would be to burn
them to a CD or copy them to a USB thumb drive and then copy them
to a suitable location on your Mac. If you need help doing this let
me know and I will try to guide you through the process.</p>
<p>I am assuming you have successfully downloaded and installed
Moneydance on your Mac. If this is not the case and you need help
with this let me know.</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Once you have the qif files on your new Mac launch the
Moneydance program. If this is the first time you have run
Moneydance you will be presented with 3 options. Click the button
that says "Import File...". If you already have run Moneydance and
have an existing Moneydance data file select
Import->"Quicken(TM) Interchange Format (QIF)" from the file
menu.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>A file browser will be displayed. Use it to locate the first of
your qif files. Select the file and Click "OK"</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>A window called "Import QIF File" will be displayed. From this
window set the "File Source:" to "From Another Program".</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Set the currency for the account you want to import.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Also ensure you select the option "Import Account Info Only"</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Click "OK"</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>To import the data into the new account Sselect
Import->"Quicken(TM) Interchange Format (QIF)" from the file
menu.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>The "Import QIF File" will be displayed again. From this window
set the "File Source:" to "From Another Program". This time do NOT
check the "Import Account Info Only" box.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>From the "Import To:" option Select "Existing Account" and
select the Moneydance account that you want to import the data
into.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Click OK and repeat these steps for all the accounts you want to
import.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>I hope this is helpful.</p>
<p>Sincerely</p>
<p>Ben Spencer</p></div>Ben Spencer
