Expense accounts

Until Intuit bought it I used Money Counts and found it to perfectly suit my needs. It allowed me to look at all my account balances, including expenses and make adjustments whenever I found an error. Best of all, at the end of a fiscal period it automatically closed balances and set up to the next fiscal period. What I really want to know about Money Dance is whether I can actually access expense accounts.

    just a user,

MD is not server based. All data is kept on your PC unless you use Dropbox to sync to the mobile app. You should be able to do all those things you could do with other personal finance software. MD does not close or archive anything automatically. You would need to create a report to pull the info you need for any period. The only issues most have relates to their banks or credit card companies changing security features which disables MD's access for direct connect. But even for those you can still access the banks web page and download the transactions. Yeah, there are a few features that we all gripe about, but all in all the product works well. The best way to see if MD will meet your needs is to download the free trial version. It's the full program, but is limited to 100 transaction downloads. No limitation on manual input. Then if you like what you see, you can purchase
