Thank you for contacting us.
a) version 2019.0 (1831) is still a beta version
b) Our lead developer stated that the public version will be live any day now, I have flagged this discussion to be notified when it is.
c) Did you purchase Moneydance from our website directly? I wasn't able to locate your purchase history using your email address. If you can provide either the email or billing address used to purchase, I will check again.
d) Currently the same android app will be in use with the new version.

Thank you for your kind wishes, a Very Happy New Year!

My concern was that the initial info re an upgrade gave no indication that it was to a Beta version. That was evident only when one went to the download page.
I look forward to receiving news of the next version when stable (i.e., not in Beta).
As regards my purchase, this was via my alternate (less used) email address, as follows:

Thank you for the additional details, I was able to find your purchase and can now confirm that the upgrade will be free in your case.

Unfortunately there is no differentiation between a beta of a new major release and what we call previews which are largely bug fixed versions of the existing release that have not reached stable status.

I would advise mostly strongly not to upgrade to MD2019 at this time, it is very much a beta at the moment in my opinion.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/467340372019-01-02T12:24:47Z2019-01-02T12:24:47ZAdvice re Upgrade->but for Beta?

Thanks so much, dwg, for taking the trouble to warn me.

Hi, Taner

Windows 10? which installer did you try appx or exe
2019 is still a beta. Would not recommend replacing 2017 yet. You should not try to run the two versions on the same computer you could corrupt your data set.
If you have a second computer then uninstall 2017 from it, if installed and test 2019 on that.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/467340372019-01-04T11:34:12Z2019-01-04T11:34:12ZAdvice re Upgrade->but for Beta?

Thanks for the advice.
I shall not install anything until the new version is stable.

I uninstalled the old version and installed the new, the result is still the same. On the other hand I have installed the new version on another computer with Windows10, it worked.

How can I make it run on my Surface pro?

After creating a new account in the computer moneydance ran with that account.

However another problem came to surface, when I try to enter the licence key moneydance says the key is wrong. When I check for eligibility to upgrade at the site, it says my licence is eligible for discounted purchase.

Now for this upgrade do I need to repurchase the moneydance?

Taner Danismenttag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/467340372019-01-13T10:30:11Z2019-01-13T10:30:11ZAdvice re Upgrade->but for Beta?

If you purchased Moneydance 2017 then the upgrade to MD2019 is free, If you purchased an earlier version then the upgrade attracts a 50% discount

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/467340372019-01-13T10:33:03Z2019-01-13T10:33:03ZAdvice re Upgrade->but for Beta?

If you create a new user account and the software runs but will not run in the original user account, the problem could be in the preferences file for the user. This file is called config.dict, try renaming this file and seeing if Moneydance will run correctly - if it does it will look like a new users has started moneydance.

dwg
