we recently purchased a new laptop and moved our files over including the backup file for moneydance. In doing the file restore, it appeared to map transactions to incorrect bank accounts (e.g. credit cards to checking, vice versa, etc). While this was annoying, it wasnt that big of a deal as it is nearly year end and we could start with a fresh install. To do this, i uninstalled then reinstalled the Moneydance software but didnt restore my backup as i had done previously. When i went to open mondydance, all previous data was still there. I tried to delete the bank accounts and set them up again and still had the mapping problem.

Please advise on how we can resolve this issue.

Do not use backup and restore to migrate to a new machine, instead copy the Moneydance data set the same way you would copy any folder between computer systems.

Backup/restore because part of its intention is to be able to recover from various disaster situations strips certain information out of the file relating to syncing, online usage etc.

dwg
