Good evening,
Can I load load Moneydance on a new computer and download my files from Dropbox to the app on my new computer? If so, how do I do that? I've loaded the Moneydance app and entered my product key, but can;t seem to get the data from Dropbox to populate it.

Thank you!

What version of Moneydance do you have on your existing system, are you currently synchronising between this and some other device like a mobile or indeed another computer. What version of Moneydance has you installed on the new computer?

    Hello DWG,

I'm currently running version 2017.10 (1706) on my existing computer. And, yes, it is synchronized with my moneydance app on my android phone...

When moving Moneydance in any way between machines it is best to be running the same version on both systems. In a syncing arrangement all systems should be running the same version in any case.

So for the first step I would install 2017.10 on the new machine, it can be sourced from:

A further question. Do you intend keeping the old machine and want to access this data from it or is the new machine a replacement. The answer can determine the approach to take.

Thanks for that info. I’m now using the same version on both computers. I was able to copy and paste the Dropbox access code using ctrl V. Now, I’m trying to get the Dropbox files to populate the new computer but no luck yet. Any suggestions? To answer your question, I do plan on running Moneydance on both computers as well as my LG Android phone.

    Thanks again!

In that case your existing machine will be the primary and your new machine the secondary and guide to setting up the secondary machine in the following Knowledge Base Article should work:
