Managing multiple 'Base' bank accounts
I've been using Moneydance for close to 10 years. I recently added another checking account to balance. How do I get Moneydance to default to my current bank checking? I want to retain the bank records of my prior bank, but I want my new bank data to come up as the default? Each time I bring up the program, it defaults to the 'Base' institution that I no longer want to balance.

Hello,
I'm not quite following what you are describing. Are you writing about different data files, and the older file is opening first, meaning you then have to go to File -> Open to switch to another one? Or are you writing about two accounts in the same data file, and the program is opening up one somehow? Or something else?

Sorry I wasn’t clear, but you guessed it right. I have to go to File -> Open to switch to another file. I have 3 files and I want to select one of them to be my primary or default when I open up Moneydance. The other 2 are prior bank account files that I’d like to retain. Can you help?

Hello Joe,
No worries about the initial description. Moneydance should remember the last file you opened, and by default open that file again when you launch the program. Is that not what's happening in your situation?

No. It reverts back to the fist file in the menu even though I close out on the second file.

Ethan,
Sorry I didn’t respond back quicker. I still have the same problem. Even though I exit Moneydance on my second file, it always comes back with the first file as the default. Is there a fix> Perhaps I have too old of a version? Version 2015.3 (1175).
Regards,
Joe
