Formatting the Home Page display

I cannot re-size the two window (columns) displayed on the home page. The left column of accounts is easily re-sized. The right side has two columns and I can only see the left most column and about 1/3 of the right side. I have used Moneydance for over two years and have still not found a way to re-size the columns. For some reason my display on my work computer shows both columns on a smaller display.

Please explain how to show the whole display (make the left column smaller). I am going crazy!

    Hi Rob,

The only way that I have been able to recreate this behavior was to create a ridiculously long account name. In my case, I have accounts in the right-hand column.
    (see attached screenshots)

Do you have something with a long name that may be causing the Home Page to widen?

Does temporarily closing the left side bar help?
You can use key combo CTRL-SHIFT-S to easily hide or show the left side bar.

    Kevin,

Thanks for the quick reply. Your picture #1 is about what I see. Yes I have
    long account names.

"Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Investment (Cash)" look like it is the longest one.

I have some automated downloaded security names that a pretty long but they
don't show in the accounts bar.

Even when I do the control-shift-S on the home page, the left-most "column" is
    larger than the right-most one.

    Hi Rob,

When I was playing around with this I noticed that security names would truncate and not cause the screen to expand.

Account names, in my test case were the culprit.

Have you tried setting a different screen resolution? This can result in smaller (or larger) font sizes but can be compensated by increasing (or decreasing) the font size in Moneydance's Preferences.

Other than that, you could look for any long named items and try to reduce the length of the names of them.

    Kevin,

I changed the font to -5 and it fits but I can't read it. -2 almost fits.

The real problem is that about 50% of my screen space is wasted in the distance
between the account/reminder/name and the balance. It would be very nice in a
future release if we could have to ability to decrease this distance to what we
want (even if the account/reminder/name) is truncated.

    Thanks for the help.

    Update. This is really wierd.

Once I changed the font back to "default" it now adjusts the two columns so it
fits in the screen window. Even when I go back to large fonts it adjusts.

It is like I had to change the preferences one time to get it to start working
correctly. To my knowledge I had NEVER changed the font sizes EVER.

Oh well. At least it is working now.

    Thanks again.
