Laundry List

Frankly, I don't know where to start.
I wrote checks today, they don't show up in Income and Expenses, Detailed.
When I go to print Income and expenses, detailed, charity, I can't find how to alphabetize the recipients so I know I don't pay them twice.
When I use Ctrl-D, MD goes to one of my financial institutions
Wen reconciling, MD can't find the check number with label to put the green dot but simply says paid check xxxx. Then I have to merge/ confirm burt merge doesn't put the green dot next to the labeled check
When I am in Income and Expense, Detailed, how do I get back to Bank Account without leaving MD?
When I exported out of my bank. It wanted to know a time line. One option was since last export, today, but I had not yet gotten further than that window so I couldn't have exported to MD yet.
I have a ton of baggage in the opening screen. A lot of files with x after them. Is it safe to delete them? Can I just keep what accounts without x that I know are current.
I have my old Quicken data files on flash drive, but I am not sure how to backup MD file to a flash drive.

Phew, this is not a very promising post re. v2019. I have been holding off updated to v2019 until the bugs have been worked out. Evan, are you on an Apple Mac, or PC? Hope you get a response to your questions soon. Mark W.

Thanks for answering. I am using a Windows 10 PC.
Got the check problem solved, thanks to Kevin. I just needed to reset.
I realized what Ctrl-D does in MD, different from any other program, which means delete something. Just press Delete in MD.
I am resorting to alphabetizing the entire bank account to find my charity checks in alphabetized order.
I am slowly getting the export from my bank to work but the blue dots and confirm/merge function is confusing. I checked with the bank and the Quicken QFX export is not fully compatible. There is something in the Quicken QFX file that Quicken uses but confuses MD. Someone said to put it in Notepad and delete some data to make it work. I am not that savvy.
I still cannot get back to Bank Account when leaving Income and Expense, Detailed.
I still haven't deleted the files with an X after them. But have been able to reconcile my two bank accounts. So, one of these days I will get up the nerve and delete the X files.
I still have a question on how to backup to my flash drive. It shouldn't be that hard.
Again, I thank you and Kevin for the help you are giving me. I wish there was good documentation I could download, rather than going from one FAQ to another.
Hope the weather there is as nice as here in Virginia Beach, VA
