CSV integration

Hello, this is a general question in regards to integrating your software through CSV files.

I should start by saying that I've had MoneyDance for at least 3 years, and I have a really great desire to get the most of it.
Unfortunately given the nature of my transaction flow, I haven't quite gotten to use it in a routine.
I think the main reason for this is that both my bank and my phone app handle CSV files. When I try to conciliate them through MoneyDance, I have to do a lot of work in order to: classify and conciliate all transactions and balances.

I've seen much of this solutions developed for QFX files and such, and I've read that CSV files aren't standardized, from which I understood there's not such support (please correct if I'm wrong).

I've also seen the Python module to develop my own scripts, but since I'm more analyst that a programmer I'm worried to break everything down.

Sorry am I going too far with this? I guess my questions are:
+ Is there conciliation functionality with transactions that are imported through CSVs? + Is there integration to sync with other mobile apps? + Do you have a recommendation in order to try and spin off python scripts without worrying about breaking my accounts?

    HI Diego,

There is a free, third-party CSV Importer designed specifically for Moneydance.

You can download it directly from the developer's website here:

It works with MD 2015 and up.

There is a 'How to use it' at the bottom of the webpage.

If you need help with it, let me know and I'll try to lend a hand.

I can't offer any help with mobile apps; I don't use them.
