In a transaction reminder you can set “Auto-commit x days before scheduled” so transaction will appear in the subject register x days in advance.
You can also ensure the under PREFERENCES – SUMMARY PAGE that REMINDERS are displayed on the summary page. Then next to UPCOMING in this reminder section use the dropdown to set either Two Weeks, One Month or This Month to see a list of up and coming transactions that have not yet been entered into a register.

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-04T16:40:07Z2019-04-04T16:40:07Zrecurring transactions

Thanks for getting back to me, just to be clear if i'm in my register with

A transaction will be automatically entered into a register the set x days before the transaction date set in reminders. the future dated transaction has a different colour background and coloured bar on the left. See my example using my custom theme.

Hi John

The “Auto-commit X days before scheduled” determines how many days before the transaction date the transaction appears in the register. In your example with a setting of “0” the transaction will appear in the account register on the 5/4/19. Zero days before the transaction date. If you set the dropdown to 4 then the transaction will appear in the register on the 1/4/19 as future transaction still with the transaction date of 5/4/19 but with a different background colour and a bar on the left of the register date column. Four days before the transaction date. See my screen shot future transaction dated 28/04/2019.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T08:38:27Z2019-04-05T08:38:27Zrecurring transactions

Hi again,

If your are syncing check that under PREFERENCES - NETWORK that “Auto-commit Reminder (applies to current file this computer)" is ticked. This is a new feature in 2019.

if this is not the issue, post again.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T14:04:39Z2019-04-05T14:04:39Zrecurring transactions

Hi,

What verson and build of Moneydance are you running e.g. 2019.2(1863).
What is your computer operating system?

Post a screen shot of one of your auto-commit reminders window so I can see the settings.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T15:43:07Z2019-04-05T15:43:09Zrecurring transactions

[image: Screen Shot 2019-04-05 at 11.39.39 AM.png]

John Frangipanetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T15:43:50Z2019-04-05T15:43:51Zrecurring transactions

MD Ver 2019.1 (1855)

John Frangipanetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T16:06:30Z2019-04-05T16:06:30Zrecurring transactions

My (limited) experience with this feature is that the "Reminder" transaction does not show up in the appropriate register, all by itself, when the reminder date has passed, and M-Dance has remained open during that period. If you close M-Dance, then reopen, the transaction will be in place.

I think I read somewhere here that a "next" version (I am running 1860) will load the Reminder transaction completely automatically, with an option. Haven't seen it yet.

jstackpotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T16:23:19Z2019-04-05T16:23:19Zrecurring transactions

Thanks for your support, I do appreciate it.
Hi John

jstackpo reference is to the fact that if you keep your computer on 24 hours a day with moneydance open then auto-committing of reminders will not occur. Moneydance checks auto-commit reminder when you open Moneydance.
John are you running Moneydance 24 hours a day?
If not as I requested post a screen shot of one of your auto-commit reminders window so I can see the settings.

You can update to the latest build at https://infinitekind.com/preview
but I don't think this is the issue.

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T18:03:32Z2019-04-05T18:03:37Zrecurring transactions

Hi,
I shall wait with bated breath for the version of M-Dance that will automatically fill in the reminders. Until then, no big problem.

jstackpotag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T18:25:09Z2019-04-05T18:25:09Zrecurring transactions

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi John

In your screen shot your “First date” is set for 05/04/2019.
Any reminder before that date will be ignored, hence why the 4th is not being acted upon.
Try setting the “First date” before the first date you want to auto-commit.

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T18:32:04Z2019-04-05T18:32:04Zrecurring transactions

I am not support staff, just a user.
Hi jstackpo

If you are running Moneydance 24/7 then I am not sure there will be a version for you were reminders auto-commit.
Moneydance in my option should be shut down at least once a day so it can perform housekeeping like reminders, auto backups, etc. If you have a crash and your data set is corrupt there will be no Moneydance backup to save you.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/471422602019-04-05T18:32:08Z2019-04-05T18:32:08Zrecurring transactions

Thanks for the reply
